Valentine's Day at Lakad Pilipinas

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and if you’re a travel bum like me who only gets to enter shopping malls once in a blue moon, you probably don’t have anything ready for your girl yet. V-Day is just a few days away and if you can’t muster the energy to go malling, online shopping just might be the thing for you.

I’m not sure how it happened but I always seem to get e-mails from online shops offering items at discounted prices. Their products are tempting enough, so I checked out their site to see if they have items related to traveling and sure enough, they have tons of it.

If you’re romantic partner is also a travel junkie, here’s five sweet gifts you can get for her (or him):

XPLORE Electronic Luggage ScaleXPLORE Electronic Luggage Scale

As a budget traveler, the last thing I want is to be charged for excess luggage. I have a regular weighing scale at home, but the problem lies in the flight back to Manila. Most hotels don’t have scales and I often buy souvenirs and presents to bring back home. I’m always unsure if I’m gonna exceed my baggage allowance and this item is the perfect way to keep my baggage weight in check. It almost weighs nothing and is only as big as your hand.

Prosafe 750 Key-card lockProsafe 750 Key-card lock

Bringing locks can spell the difference between a perfect vacation and a ruined one. Losing valuables from your bag is the ultimate way of spoiling an out of town adventure. But what’s so different with this set of locks compared to the cheap ones being sold down the sidewalks? It uses a card to unlock it! Just swipe and it opens! You can store the keycard in your wallet where it’s most safe. It even has a spare one just in case, knock on wood; it’s your wallet you lose.

Cocoon Grid-It! Medium OrganizerCocoon Grid-It! Medium Organizer

I have seen this product on airports stores before and I immediately loved it! For people on the go, one of the hardest things to keep organized are electronic gadgets and the cords that goes with them. With Grid-It, just tuck your gizmos any which way you want and boom, it’s all organized! The coolness factor is an added bonus too.

My Daisy Camera BagMy Daisy Camera Bag

Now this one’s perfect for girlfriends who don’t like lugging the usual big black camera bag. Girls will always be girls, so get them a girly bag for their pink DSLR’s. Need I say more?

If you’re really feeling very generous or if you have some unforgivable sins to make up for, then why not go all out and buy your special someone a big bag for all her travel needs. I’ve seen a lot of travel bags on Lazada, they have both rolling luggage, duffle bags and backpacks. Observe your girlfriend’s packing habit and get her a bag that fits her style the most.
LazadaYou can get all these goodies from Lazada either via the usual credit card route, but what differentiates this site from most shopping sites I visit is that you can pay COD for your items. That’s right; you can pay right at your front door as your ordered product is being handed to you. It takes five days for an order to be delivered if you’re in Metro Manila, five days more if outside GMA.

Most of the products I saw were so nice I would not mind receiving a few of them for myself, ehem. But the best thing really is that you don’t have to go to the mall to get them. Heck, you can even buy them while taking a breather from a snorkeling session on an island somewhere. The only downside is, we guys just lost an excuse to say we didn’t have enough time to get our girl a gift.
