Sunset at Patar Rock Formation

I climbed a grassy hill made of dark coral stones at Barangay Patar in Bolinao yesterday and found the iconic Patar landscape that has been the playground of some of the best landscape photographers in the Philippines. This is the only location in Bolinao that I really wanted to photograph; the waterfalls, the beaches, the lighthouse and the caves are all nice, but they are secondary. It was unfortunate though that we only got to spend half an hour in the area and didn’t even make it to sunset. Totally unacceptable!

My travel buddies went back to Manila earlier today; vacation’s over, but I have other plans. With bags packed, I went the opposite way and extended my stay at Bolinao for one more day. I just cannot let the rocks of Patar go that easily, I got to have my turn at that playground too.
