ON THE ROAD | Farewell Iligan City

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

The past days had been a blur of waterfalls at Iligan City. We visited a total of seven falls including one which was really not in the itinerary.

I was having doubts if I would enjoy the company of the group since I only knew three of the twelve travel bloggers that would be filling our van each day. They all seemed fun enough, the only problem was I was the only guy who doesn’t know how to speak the local dialect and they seemed to forget that sometimes. :)

That hesitation, however, vaporized after a few hours with the group. More than the waterfalls, it was actually the people that I had traveled with for five days that make me miss Iligan City even as I write this entry.

  4. For those like myself that only are fluent in English language will find it is not a barrier to having a great time visiting and touring in Iligan City as you have found out for yourself. It pleases me that you too have discovered the warmth and hospitality of the Iliganons which is one of the reasons I always look forward to visiting Iligan again.

This video, made as a school project by some Iliganon students is a perfect example. I have been told the language in it is Tagalog. Although I can not understand the words, the upbeat tempo of the music, the images and the enthusiasm of those you see break all language barriers. Have a look and a listen for yourself.
