Vaude, Europe’s most sustainable outdoor outfitter is set to take on the Philippine mountains. Tripologie, a travel store specializing in bags and backpacks recently introduced Vaude to their line-up of outdoor mountaineering equipment, launching the prestigious German backpack in the country last February.

Located at the ground floor atrium of Eastwood Citywalk II, Tripologie set the stage for Vaude’s introduction to the Philippine market (online selling, coming soon too).
VAUDE, GERMANY’S PREMIER OUTDOOR BAGS
Vaude (pronounced as fau-de) is a well-known outdoor brand in Europe. The family-owned company (which is something that’s really good by the way, since they can really do whatever the heck they want to do without the corporate bull) is based in Germany and has been making outdoor equipment since the seventies. They specialize in mountaineering gear and have been at the forefront of utilizing sustainable materials, resource-conserving manufacturing and fair work practices.

But an environmentally-sound product is nothing if it doesn’t work. And that’s what impressed me about Vaude’s backpacks the most.
VAUDE’S LAUNCH AT TRIPOLOGIE
Tripologie has partnered with Trail Adventours, one of the leading mountaineering tour groups in the country, and together, they demonstrated to us what makes Vaude’s backpacks totally different from the usual mountaineering bags we’re all used to.
But even before the launch, the guys from Trail Adventours has already used the bags, rigorously testing it for its strength. Aside from being super lightweight, it did not fail them. In their own words, it got dirty, but it held strong.
HOW VAUDE’S BACKPACK WORK
I love how well thought out their bag designs are; from the adjustable back length carrying system, to its shoulder straps, down to the most minute detail that only dedicated outdoorsmen and mountaineers would have thought of. Actually, even non-hikers were impressed about the bag; this is definitely something one can take backpacking with for months on end.

I thought my favorite 60-liter backpack was good enough, that is until I tried Vaude’s light-as-feather backpacks. Now I want one for myself. I can definitely see myself taking one for my two month-long South East Asian trip next month and experience Vaude for myself.
