The District Boracay

Evening welcomed us with complimentary glasses of cocktails followed by bottles of Red Horse Beer at the roof deck of The District Boracay. The sky was painted in electric hues and stories within our circle were pouring in as fast as we were consuming our drinks. On the west, the sun’s afterglow was weakening, painting Boracay’s White Beach a pale blue. Southward, the posh balconies of the resort together with its outdoor swimming pool were starting to glow with lights. We were at the best of both worlds.

The District Boracay
THE DISTRICT BORACAY’S CUBE-LIKE MODERNIST DESIGN

The District Boracay is located on the beachfront of Station 2, the busiest part of the White Beach. It’s less that a minute away from D’Mall and is at the center of the party scene on the island. I love the fact that it’s near Starbucks too, no need to carry my newly bought Boracay Starbucks Icon mugs an hour away to wherever else, lol.

The District Boracay
CLEAN SOLID TONES COMPLEMENTED BY GREENS

I like the resort’s architecture, modern and minimalist. Walls are painted in clean white; the only accents being black trims, tan-shaded stones, and well-tended shrubbery. It has two restaurants, Caruso at the ground floor, and the Star Lounge—where the complimentary buffet breakfast is set, at the second floor. And yes, they also have a bar at the roof deck.

The District Boracay Pool
THE LAP POOL ~ OPEN EVERYDAY FROM 7:00AM TO 10:00PM

We spent two nights at the resort and were billeted on their Deluxe Queen Rooms. Located on the ground floor, it is right across their lap pool; quite convenient since we usually lounge and swim around the pool and Jacuzzi at night before going out to party.

The District Boracay Deluxe Queen Room Toilet
LOVE THE SEPARATE TOILET AND BATH

I was astounded at how huge our room was. Furnished with two queen-sized beds with separate toilet and shower rooms, it still has space for our whole group (all five of us) to convene and have a few drinks over while watching indie Filipino films on their flat-screens during lull moments.

OUR FAVORITE SPOT, THE VERANDAH

Our room also has a small balcony overlooking the pool. We love spending time here having coffee, which is replenished daily (along with everything else like mosquito repellants and sunblock! Nice right?), and just shooting the breeze.

One of the nicest aspects of staying at The District is their lovely and friendly staff. Besides being really well-dressed (their uniform rocks, ehem), everyone seems genuinely pleasant and knows each guests by name. Now, that is service at its finest.

But the problem in staying at the The District Boracay is really the dilemma of basking in the comforts and luxury of the resort versus going out the door and enjoying the soft sand and the emerald waters of the beach. Lucky us, we have three days to ponder over and answer that question.
