Partying until the wee hours of the morning can take its toll. Wake up too early to catch that complimentary breakfast and you’ve got a major hangover to battle with. Sleep your hangover and you miss the buffet spread. And waking up before ten in the morning is a crime when in Boracay.

At The District’s Star Lounge, we never did have that dilemma. Waking up late was never a problem. They have buffet brunch.

CLASSY DINING AMBIENCE

The Star Lounge is the in-house restaurant of The District Boracay, a luxury beachfront resort located at Boracay’s White Beach. Set on the second floor, they serve a mix of Filipino, Asian, and Western dishes on a buffet spread during the mornings, and an ala carte menu during the evenings. Their breakfast (6:00AM to 10:00AM) or brunch (10:30AM to 1:00PM) are served free of charge for The District’s checked in guests, but walk-in guests are also allowed to join in on the fray (Php500.00 adult / Php250.00 kids).

Star Lounge’s breakfast, or brunch for us, did not disappoint. It wasn’t dubbed the best brunch buffet in Boracay for nothing. Aside from the usual Filipino morning fare, they have pasta, noodles, and even roti. My favorites are their local garlic longganisa and, of course, their very crispy bacons.

Later that night, we were invited to try out their Weekend Grill Dinner which runs every Fridays and Saturdays at the roof deck bar. The dishes they served to us were quite new and aren’t on the menu just yet. Eager guinea pigs, we absolutely were.

We’ve had burgers, barbecues, hotdogs, and seafood. Imagine anything grilled, Star Lounge probably has them. It was a sumptuous feast, but of course, there has to be a favorite. For me, it’s a tie between the chillicondog, which was an absolute mess to eat but was totally worth every sloppy bite, and the aussie shrimp on the barbie, which most of my friends agree with. Serving size of each dish was very generous and good for sharing, but I can probably down two of those hotdogs by myself with no effort.

With shirts fit to bursting right after, we were left wondering if there’s still enough space on our tummies for our Boracay beerfest later. Burp!
