InFlight Traveller Calayan Island

InFlight Traveller, one of the leading and oldest travel magazines in the country, recently published my piece about a lesser known destination in the Philippines—Calayan Island. Located in between Aparri and Batanes, traveling to there was definitely no piece of cake.

The island is the largest of the Babuyan Island Group and it took us six hours of rough boat ride to traverse the island from the town of Claveria which sits at the tip of northern Luzon. It was all worth it though, the place is a paradise unspoiled by tourism. We visited waterfalls, beaches, underwater gardens and caves. And the food! Lobster galore!

It was one of my most memorable trips ever and I’m only too glad to share my story and photographs thru InFlight Traveller. An online version of the story was also published on their online portal Archipelago.

The magazine is still available on all leading bookstores nationwide for only Php150.00.
